Unlock Your Inner Vitality: Lihua Song’s Morning Routine for General Wellness
As the founder of an international beauty brand, I lead a busy life and often get asked how I maintain my energy and vitality every day. To escape the daily stress and find a sense of calm and well-being, I have established a morning routine that works for me. I would love to share my practice with you and encourage you to find your own ritual to improve your general wellness. Step 1 – The first thing I do when I wake up is making myself a cup of herbal tea – usually green tea, to kick-start my morning and take advantage of its antioxidants and health benefits. The tea-making process gives me the focus I need to start my daily and is often considered a meditation in itself. I use loose tea leaves in hot (not boiling) water and sometimes add fresh mint for an extra boost. The tea-making process is a form of meditation for me.
Step 2 – I also make myself a glass of warm lemon water. Make sure to use an organic lemon if you have access to one and filtered water. The lemon water helps me stay hydrated after a long night without water, aids in digestion, and supplies me with a healthy dose of vitamin C.
Yoga and Mindfulness:
Step 3 – Next, I practice Kundalini Yoga for about 30 minutes in a peaceful and distraction-free environment. Kundalini Yoga helps me ease stress and anxiety, improve cognitive functioning, and boost self-perception and self-appreciation. It's a great way to meditate and stretch while staying hydrated with my tea and lemon water.
Face the day:
Step 4 – After yoga, I have a healthy breakfast with fruit or a bowl of yogurt and muesli. This helps me avoid snacking until lunch and gives me the energy I need to face the day. I then go for a walk or a morning swim for a bit of cardio to prepare for anything coming my way.

It’s important to remember we are all facing the day with our own issues, and that’s why I believe it is important to take time for yourself and be gentle with yourself.
